Spent the night mostly doing detail stuff.
- Removing door handles
- Taping all the door trim (seriously, so tedious!)
- Sand bondo, apply more bondo, etc...
- Discover a few small bubbles of paint along window rail on rear upper hatch...out comes the window and bam, 10 spots of rust along the rail. None that bad, but still bubbling, so I took care of it.
- Cleaned with degreaser all soon-to-be-painted door latches/hangers/brackets.
The "black stuff" in the pics are of the rust areas that have been hit with some "Rust Converter." It transforms rust into a solid and stops the spread of further rust. You know it's working if the brown rusty area turns black, like you see in the pics...yay!
If you look closely, you can see where the weatherstripping for the window sits along the edge so I could only see just a very small bubble just along the edge. Take the window out and Bam...found it!
Looking at the list I'm like, "Huh, sounds like about an hours worth of time..." I started at 5pm and it's now 11pm. Almost a full day of work after a full day of work. This project needs to get finished!
